34th Homecoming Chili Cook-Off Registration

WELCOME TO THE UHCL HOMECOMING CHILI COOK-OFF!
We are so excited for you to join the roster of teams competing at this year's Chili Cook-Off! Please read through this registration form carefully as there are many important details and items to consider before your team is officially eligible to compete.
Registration Deadlines:
Priority Registration: Friday, November 1st 11:59 PM
Registration: Wednesday, November 6th 11:59 PM
Team Withdrawal: Monday, November 11th 12:00 PM
Event Details:
Date: Saturday, November 16th, 2024
Team Check-In: 10:00 AM
Team Cook Time: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Tasting Time: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
If you have any questions regarding the requirements for eligibility or need assistance with completing your team's entry documents, please contact our event lead, Calvin Nguyen.
Team Equipment:
All competing teams will be provided one 6ft table, and 2 chairs. Teams are allowed to bring additional tables and chairs but must be courteous and respect the shared cook-off space.
Teams are responsible for providing their own equipment including but not limited to a burner, fuel, 5 gallon pot, cooking utensils, etc.
Student Organizations and Student Groups will be assigned tents on a first come first serve basis. Professional Departments, Academic Departments, Colleges, Alumni, and Community Partners must provide their own tent.
Prizes:
Teams competing in the Chili Cook-Off are all eligible for the following prize categories.
- Best Chili: Highest scoring chili according to judging panel.
- Runner-Up: Second highest scoring chili according to judging panel.
- People's Choice: The best tasting chili as voted by attendees.
- Best Spirited: Team with the best decorations as voted by attendees. (optional)

Teams competing in this category are encouraged to be as creative as possible working with the Homecoming Theme: Hunter' Country Fest. Teams should follow best practices as representatives of the UHCL community. Our event team reserves the right to disqualify teams from consideration for inappropriate decorations/themes.
